San Carlos, Costa Rica. 2 Jun. The cyclist from the Czech Republic Patricie Srnska and Jan Zatloukal won the gold medals, this Sunday, at the closing day of the World University Cycling Championship (FISU) that took place at the Tecnológico de Costa Rica Campus in San Carlos.

With these two gold medals, the Czech Republic delegation reached five and was crowned the leading country in the Championship medal table. In second place was Hungary, with three gold medals, and in third, Germany, with 1.

This Sunday’s test was the Olympic Cross Country (XCO), Mountain Bike, in which the men did seven laps of the circuit and the women five.

In women, the silver medal went to Poland, with Matylda Szczecinska, and the bronze went to the Czech, with Aneta Novotna.

“I am very happy with the result, yesterday after the Eliminator I was quite sick and I thought the race was going to be complicated for me, the weather was quite strong,” said Srnska.

The men’s podium was completed by the Portuguese João Cruz and the German Louis Krauss, with silver and bronze, respectively.

“I’m very happy, the track adapted to my conditions and I set a strong pace from the start to secure the victory,” said Zatloukal.
